I am from Ukraine, I do not have a valid travel document, can I enter Poland now, in 2023?

Special legal regulations introduced in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine apply to Ukrainian citizens who have arrived on Polish territory since 24 February 2022 due to hostilities.

It is notable, that in such circumstances, it is not required that the arrival in Poland takes place directly from the territory of Ukraine.

If the reason for the Ukrainian citizen’s arrival in Poland is warfare, even if he or she does not have a valid travel document, he or she is allowed to enter Poland with the consent of the Commander of the relevant Border Guard Post.

It should be emphasised, that the issuing of this consent is optional, i.e. the Commander of the relevant Post may refuse entry if he/she considers that the person does not meet the requirements of the special regulations.
