Is it possible to apply for PLN 40 for accommodation if the refugee left the place of stay in July and returned to it in September?

The general period of a maximum of 120 days of accommodation of a foreigner, for which compensation of PLN 40 per day is due, expired on June 25, 2022.

However, due to amendments to the regulation setting the amount and rules for these benefits, municipalities have been given the right to extend benefits for certain categories of people with special needs.

The categories listed in the regulation are primarily Ukrainian nationals who:

– have a certificate of disability or a document certifying the 1st or 2nd degree of disability issued under the Ukrainian Disability Assessment System;

– have reached the age of 60 (women) or 65 (men);

– have single custody of three or more children in the territory of Poland;

– pregnant women or those raising a child under 12 months;

– unaccompanied minors.

If the person belongs to any of the categories listed, an application should be made immediately to the municipality.
