What are the formalities related to the burial of a person who died in Poland and entered from Ukraine after 24.02.2022?
Most importantly, it is up to the family of the deceased to decide where he or she should be buried.
It should also be indicated that transporting a deceased person to another country is extremely expensive.
The system of support to Ukrainian citizens who have left their country in connection with the armed conflict does not provide for covering the costs of burial in Poland or transporting the deceased to Ukraine.

A purpose-specific benefit is a benefit granted to cover some basic living needs; it may also be used to cover funeral expenses. It is granted to a person with no income and upon application at a municipal social assistance centre.
It should be noted that in the case of persons who prior to their death had applied for international protection (and also benefited from social assistance) it is the person who covered the funeral costs who is entitled to a funeral allowance in the amount of the costs actually incurred, but not more than the amount of the funeral allowance paid on the basis of the Act of December 17, 1998 on Pensions from the Social Insurance Fund (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 291, 353 and 794).
If the funeral of a foreigner occurs abroad, the funeral allowance covers only the reimbursement of the costs of transporting the deceased to the border
